Why do good people die, someone once asked?
A man replied him, God needed a replacement in the Corps of Angels.
The avalanche of tributes since alhaji Uthman died had been irrefutable truths, hitting the nail on the head at each hammer landing. Looking at the life and times of Alhaji Uthman, from any angle of elevation, i can pound my chest that he was exemplary, the last edition of good men, the very salt of the Earth!
We became acquainted as early as 1968 when he came on board at GSS, Alalubosa, GSS 1 , Ilorin. He ‘entered’ with Pastor Korode, Joshua Gbadeyan and Adewale Samuel Ajiboye.
I was then in HSC, Upper Six Class and the House Captain of Alanamu House. Apart from directing them at their studies and attending to their little needs, they had the added security of being SamJets’ kids. You would have to think twice before punishing or bullying them, lol
I had maintained contact with him ever since. I once posted that he was the Pioneer and Spark Plug of the Olota Abolarin phenomenal Family, an abiding Monument, at Aran orin. Yes, that Uthman was brilliant was beyond debate. God favoured him with so many virtues and talents
In 1988 when Pa Jacob Adeoye died, it was such a very rude shock. When the ministering Father saw the depth of our grief and anguish he cautioned us and sympathized. He appreciated our love for him. He then told us to stop weeping. He now declared that ‘the man died’ because OLUWA NI FISE!
This confirmed my standpoint above that Allah needed Uthman in his Corps of Angels!
